Features
Fast and user-friendly operation
The 86162A is simple to use and delivers quick results. Just insert the material into the slot, and the device instantly shows the visible light transmittance, as well as UV and IR rejection rates.
Compact and portable design
Lightweight and easy to carry, this meter is perfect for outdoor use. The 8mm-wide slot accommodates automotive windshields directly for on-site testing.
Data hold function for easy reading
In cases where the reading angle is inconvenient—due to location or material characteristics—the HOLD button lets users lock the data on screen. This ensures the readings remain visible even if the device is moved.

Real-time dynamic calibration for consistent results
The 86162A features real-time dynamic calibration. When the test slot is empty, the meter automatically resets to its base state, ensuring stable and accurate measurements.

Low power consumption
Powered by four AAA alkaline batteries, the meter features ultra-low power usage. It also includes an auto-shutdown function that turns off the device after three minutes of inactivity, helping conserve energy and extend battery life.

FAQ
-
1. The difference between 86162 (940nm) and 86162A (1400nm) window film transmission meters
The main difference between 86162 and 86162A is that the IR bands are different. The infrared peak wavelength of 86162 is 940nm and the 86162A is 1400nm. These two bands are more representative bands. The absorbing film has a better infrared rejection effect at 940nm.The metallic film (Insulation by reflection) has a better infrared rejection effect at 1400nm. Please choose the appropriate instrument according to your own film.

2. The difference between 86162A and 86163A window film transmission meters
86162A measuring notch width is 8mm, 86163A measuring notch width is 6mm;
86162A use point light source, while 86163A use parallel light path. The latter has higher data accuracy for measuring thick materials.
