86200 Glass Thickness Meter
Scale reading
Based on the laser reflection principle, the device measures glass thickness from one side.
It simultaneously measures both the thickness of the glass and the air interlayer.
The measuring range includes a glass thickness scale of up to 70 mm and an air space scale of up to 34 mm.
The 86200 Glass Thickness Meter is designed to measure the thickness of single-pane glass, insulated glass, and cylindrical glass bottles. It is particularly useful in situations where traditional rulers or calipers are difficult or impractical to use—for example, when measuring the wall thickness of glass bottles or laminated glass windows. For insulated glass, it can measure the thickness of each glass pane and the air layer between them at the same time. This meter is ideal for applications in quality inspection, supervision, education, manufacturing, sales, construction, and other fields.

Features
Easy Operation & Fast Measurement
Using laser reflection technology, the meter allows one-side measurement of both glass and air layers, making it simple and convenient to use.
Wide Measuring Range
It can simultaneously measure glass thickness (up to 70 mm) and air interlayer thickness (up to 34 mm).

Simultaneous Measurement of Glass and Air Layers
The device can assess both the air layer and glass thickness in insulated glass in one step. The following example illustrates the method of calculation:
C – D = thickness of the first glass layer (5 – 0 = 5 mm)
A – B = thickness of the second glass layer (30 – 25 = 5 mm)
B – C = thickness of the air layer (12 – 2.5 = 9.5 mm)
Note: For accurate readings, view at a 45° angle under strong light.
Versatile Applications
The meter is suitable for measuring the thickness of various types of glass—including single-pane glass, double glazing, triple glazing, and more.

FAQ
-
1. The difference between 86200 and 86201 glass thickness gauge
1) 86200 displays the measurement results through the scale. During the test, you need to press the measure button to manually read and calculate the thickness of the glass and air layer; 86201 displays the measurement results directly on the digital screen. Place the instrument close to the test notch of the instrument. Press the measure button, the thickness of the glass and air layer will be displayed directly on the screen, which is more convenient to use.
2) The test accuracy of 86200 is ±0.5mm, the test accuracy of 86201 is ±0.1mm. Test accuracy of 86201 is higher.
3) 86200 can only test insulating glass, 86201 can test laminated glass in addition to insulating glass, which has wider application.

2. The minimum glass size can be measured by 86200 and 86201 glass thickness gauge?
As long as the glass can cover the notch on the back of the glass thickness gauge, the glass can be measured.
The minimum size of the glass that 86200 can measure: 10mm*100mm, the minimum size of the glass that 86201 can measure: 5mm*50mm.
