86221 Coating Thickness Gauge
Measurement Range: 0.0–2000μm
High Accuracy | Stable Performance
Compatible with Ferrous and Non-Ferrous Substrates
Split-Type Design for Use in Confined Spaces
The 86221 Coating Thickness Gauge is a precision instrument designed for measuring coating thickness on metal surfaces. It utilizes both Hall Effect and Eddy Current principles to accurately measure non-ferromagnetic coatings on ferromagnetic metals, as well as non-conductive coatings on non-magnetic metal substrates.
Thanks to its split-type design, where the main unit and probe are separate, the device is especially practical in complex or hard-to-reach environments. It’s suitable for use in both laboratory and field applications.
Hall Effect: Measures non-ferromagnetic coatings on ferromagnetic substrates.
Eddy Current: Measures non-conductive coatings on non-magnetic metal substrates.
Ferromagnetic metals at room temperature: Iron, cobalt, nickel, and gadolinium.
Common non-ferromagnetic metals: Copper, aluminum, zinc, chromium, and more.

FAQ
-
1. The difference between 86220H and 86221
The functions and parameters of 86220H and 86221 are exactly the same, but the 86220H coating thickness gauge adopts an integrated design and can be operated with one hand; while the 86221 adopts a split design, the probe size is smaller, which is suitable for measuring narrow spaces and some special positions.
