User Manual

The 86252DC is a next-generation, pocket-sized metal hardness tester that combines the impact device and control unit in a single, compact form. Small enough to fit in your hand or pocket, it leverages advanced dual-coil technology to deliver outstanding accuracy (±6 HL) and reliable repeatability (6 HL). The built-in orientation sensors automatically adjust for measurement errors caused by various impact angles, ensuring consistent, precise results. The device features a crisp OLED display and is ideal for use in tight spaces—such as holes, cylindrical surfaces, or within assembled machinery. It charges via USB and offers a user-friendly recalibration function.

Application

The 86252DC Leeb Hardness Tester is suitable for testing the hardness of various metals, including:

  • Steel and cast steel

  • Alloy and stainless steel

  • Gray and ductile cast iron

  • Cast aluminum alloys

  • Copper-zinc and copper-tin alloys

  • Pure copper and forged steel

Its compact size and built-in DC impact device make it perfect for confined areas such as holes and cylindrical parts, or for conducting internal measurements on assembled equipment.

FAQ

  1. What is the thinnest thickness a durometer can measure and what is the thinnest thickness after coupling?

Leeb hardness tester is only suitable for large and heavy workpieces, small and thin parts must be coupled to a solid support for testing; DC-type impact device is measured by the minimum mass of 5kg, the minimum thickness of 25mm, if the weight or thickness does not meet the requirements, must be coupled to a solid support for testing, coupled to the minimum thickness of the measured object is 3mm.
